There is a practice of noticing within oneself the me-tendencies.
Some me-tendencies are loud and obvious, easy to notice, other are subtle, barely noticed and go under the radar.
At times noticing the mind going outwards is clear and facile and the mind can be brought back to the silent inward contemplation.
At times, the mind goes outwardly and is barely noticed, if at all.
Although the subtle me-image is barely noticed, hiding in the midst of thinking and feeling, the task is to reveal it to oneself.
This may require a fine tooth comb.
