Although on the absolute level, nothing matters, although on the absolute level there is no separate self, on the relative level, we live as if everyone and everything matters. 
It matters because it is manifesting and all manifestations refer directly or indirectly to divine grace. 
Happy manifestations express and celebrate gods grace and refer directly to the source while the unhappy ones refer to the contemplation and realization of gods grace, refer indirectly to the source.
