When you contemplate the reality of your experience, do you find yourself as a limited form or do you find yourself as seamless awareness?

Friend: You speak all the time that the sense of being a person is false. For me, it is self evident that I am me, this person. For me, self evidence is a good evidence. Why should I refute it?

Reply: You do not need to refute it. You need to probe and inquire into it. You need to contemplate what you are calling self evidence.
When you contemplate the reality of your experience, do you find yourself as a limited form or do you find yourself as seamless awareness? Simply contemplate your experience and come to your own conclusions based on your own investigation and not on inherited beliefs.
The person appears to you, does it not?
Does it not appear to you as thoughts, images, perceptions and bodily sensations? What is your experience of the person? Is it not something that appears to you and dissolves in deep sleep?

Are you still a person in the absence of thought? And the thought that says you are a person, what is it that perceives it? Is it not you that perceives it? You, meaning awareness? You consciousness?
Is it not odd that we identify with what we perceive and we overlook that I am the borderless awareness that perceives?
You need to conduct your own investigation and in time it will become self evident that what you truly are is consciousness and not something that is perceived, not a form in time and space.
Then you can contemplate that consciousness is borderless, infinite, invisible and universal.
The true I AM. Universal Self.
