Does the arising of thought signify the arising of a separate self?

THOUGHT AND IGNORANCE

Does the arising of thought signify the arising of a separate self? Does it imply ignorance?
~~~
Not necessarily. Thought requires a knowing of it but this knowing does not necessarily need to be separate from the thought that is known.
Ignorance refers to the knowing being a separate self. The separate self separates knowing from the known via the intermediary of a separate subject.
Thought can be contemplative, creative, celebratory; neither of which imply a separate self. Neither of which imply separation.
