There is a death that precedes the death of the body. 
It is the death of separation and the ending of the me-you impression. 
This death reveals Sat-Chit-Ananda, the bliss of being that is our true nature, the true nature of the universe. 
The ending of the rollercoaster  ride of unhappiness.
