The tendency to seek an experience

QUESTION:

I can see the tendency for the seeking of a particular experience, or the repeat of a past one, especially if it’s considered “spiritual”. Yet this movement seems stale and repetitive and ultimately frustrating. This seems different than “remembering”.
Can you comment on this? Thanks

Reply:While remembering arises spontaneously to you out of your contemplation and maturity along the path, it does not arise from you. One could say remembering is god remembering herself (irrespective of your human mind).
On the other hand, seeking an experience or wanting to hold on to an experience or a state arises from you (as the content of your human mind) and not from the divine nature.
